Finchley Hearing was founded by Dr David Engelman, an experienced audiologist dedicated to providing ethical, evidence-based hearing care. Originally from New York City, David earned his clinical doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) from the City University of New York in 2014. He has since worked in various clinical settings, including private practices in both the USA and the UK, as well as the NHS. He has extensive experience in adult hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings, and hearing rehabilitation. David is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council as both a hearing aid dispenser and a clinical scientist. He currently holds a Specialist Audiologist position with an NHS hospital trust serving Hertfordshire and Essex.

David’s approach is built on scientific best practices and a commitment to unbiased, patient-focused care. He is a member of the "Inspired by Ida" programme, an initiative from the Ida Institute in Denmark that promotes person-centred care—ensuring patients are fully informed and actively involved in decisions about their hearing health.

As the audiologist and owner of Finchley Hearing, David provides expert hearing tests, private hearing aids, and earwax removal for adults across North London, including Finchley, Hendon, Mill Hill, Golders Green, Muswell Hill, East Finchley, Highgate, Tufnell Park, and Camden.
